…as national commander vows to probe the matter deeply
A soldier, simply identified as Abubakar Ibrahim serving at Nigeria Army Garrison, Mogadishu Barracks Abuja attempted to murder a Man O’ War Personnel in NYSC Camp on the 19th December, 2022.
Aluta creative authoritatively gathered that the soldier apparently nursing a grudge from a minor disagreement between him and personnel of the Man O’ War attacked him with a plank laced with nails from behind.
A source privy to this development narrated the ugly development to Alutacreative blog stating how the fellow was attacked at the Kubwa camp of NYSC.
He explained that “one soldier in NYSC camp attacked a Man O’ War Personnel in camp with a plank and injured about three of them then ran to hide.
“The Army and the Man O’ War have always been instructors in training Corps Members in the NYSC Orientation Camps.
“For this batch of NYSC Orientation Exercise that started on the 30th of November, 2022, there was a little disagreement between some soldiers and Man O’ War in the line of their duty about two weeks ago.
“This was amicably resolved by the Camp Commandant and the Officers of Man O’ War.The night of Monday which was a day to the close of camp, the soldier used a plank with nails to hit the Man O’ War Officer on his head unaware from the back.
” As he turned, he hit him twice again which gave him two injuries at the back of his head and the front then another in his hand as he used the hand to block the attack.
“As the Man O’ War tried to defend himself, two of his colleagues who came to his rescue were also injured by the same soldier with the plank.
“They were rushed out of the camp to the Kubwa General Hospital for treatment as the Camp clinic doesn’t have the facilities to give them appropriate treatment due to the severity of the injuries.
The NYSC FCT Coordinator with his officials and the Camp Commandant were trying to cover up the incidence as nothing was done to the soldier.
“The soldier with his colleagues were seen in jubilation after the incident. This arose the anger of other Man O’ War Officers which resulted to a fight between them.
“The soldier who was supposed to be arrested for attempted murder was not arrested. The State Coordinator who was supposed to set up a Camp Court to try him did not do it nor cared to check on the injured Man O’ War and see how they are doing.
“The National Commander of the Man O’ War Nigeria, Col. Adamu Depsia (Rtd) has taken the case up and promised that he will make sure justice is served.
